QV-LIFT to attract millennials to the satellite ecosystem

The Chamber of Commerce of Pisa organized on June 4 2019 a conference on “The primary role of telecommunications engineers in the “Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0 developments“.
The event was attended by a number of ICT companies operating in Tuscany, in the area of Pisa including MBI which presented recent developments in satellite communications including QV-LIFT.

The audience (approx 50 people) was composed of professors from the University of Pisa, delegations from some Companies involved in telecommunications (IDS, Welcome Italia, Netresults, CUBIT, Habble, Cloud4Wi) and a group of candidate students of the Telecommunications Engineering academic course.
The objective of the meeting was to introduce the world of telecommunications to the students and stimulate a discussion among the participants on the ways to attract millenials and younger people to the world of telecommunications.
The University collected information from the industry on skills and topics to be promoted during university classes which are relevant for the sector. Several speakers listed the skills they are looking for when evaluating job applications and proposed possible training topics.
During the event research activities and projects, including QV-LIFT, have been presented and discussed with the audience.
